Jimmy & Friends Featuring Bobbi-Jo The group Jimmy and Friends featuring Bobbi-Jo have been performing locally since 1994. Jimmy, the leader of the group, retired from DuPont in 1992 and decided to start a combo utilizing the latest computer technology for music production. He was introduced to Bobbi-Jo by her nephew Mark Major. Bobbi-Jo married Mark's Uncle Robert (Peanut) Baldwin in 1969. During the 50's Bobbi-Jo performed in the Washington DC area with a group called Ali-Baba, and in the 60's she fronted her own band, Bobbi Collins and the Teardrops, and toured the USO circuit. After meeting Peanut at the Circle K in Penns Grove they decided to tie the knot and Bobbi-Jo retired from the music business. Fast forward twenty five years and in 1992 Bobbi-Jo returned to the Salem area. Mark and Bobbi-Jo decided to rekindle her vocal talents and in 1994 Mark introduced Bobbi-Jo to Jimmy. Here we are some thirteen years later and Bobbi-Jo and Jimmy are still doing their thing, thanks to Mark. Stop by the Salem Farmers Market and hear the eclectic mix of country, standards, blues and oldies that Bobbi-Jo and Jimmy have put together for your enjoyment. Bobbi-Jo says “I really like playing at the Market because I get to see many old friends from my days working at the Garwood House and the Salem Country Club”.
